Ensemble Member, Cristina Fernandez
We take a pause - just a for a second - to get back to welcoming some of our newest members Cristina Fernandez. Welcome!!!
CRISTINA FERNANDEZ
Cristina is honored to join the Barefoot Theatre Company.
Cristina is an actress & tv host. In 2003, she moved to NYC to pursue acting and trained at Uta Hagen's HB Studio. Theatre: Yo Soy Latina, Jose Can Speak. Film: The Little Things, Marisol. TV: The Conan O'Brien Show. Various national commercials. Cristina has also produced several short films , through Lincoln Lab, including the film Landing, due out Fall 2010. She currently resides in Los Angeles and is Associate Producing Director for the upcoming Barefoot production of fellow member Joseph Sousa's play, "Teeth Of The Sons." Cristina is originally from Puerto Rico and proud of it!

Master Class on Ensemble Collaboration (barefoot theatre co. opens its home)
Barefoot Theatre announces an ENSEMBLE COLLABORATION WORKSHOP lead by Co-Founder and Producing Artistic Director, Francisco Solorzano. This 4-week workshop will take place at Barefoot's rehearsal space in Park Slope, Brooklyn. Actors, directors and playwrights are invited to apply. Selected by Francisco, the group will be guided through a series of warm-ups and exercises with a focus on script analysis and making the strongest choice possible for a memorable theatrical experience. The workshop will culminate in a public performance.

Francisco Solorzano most notably adapted, directed and was featured in the acclaimed ensemble stage adaptation of Dog Day Afternoon. As Producing Artistic Director for Barefoot Theatre Company, Francisco created and produced the 70/70 Horovitz Project, a year-long festival celebrating Israel Horovitz's work with over 70 readings and fully staged productions world-wide. In addition, Francisco Co-Founded Barefoot Studio Pictures, a film production company dedicated to the production of film/video/viral media. A graduate of CUNY's Brooklyn College with a BFA in Acting, Francisco recently received the Brooklyn College Alumnus of the Year Award for Excellence in Theater. Other recent credits include the development and premier of Israel Horovitz's full-length play Sins of the Mother (Gloucester Stage Company & Florida Stage). He has appeared on stage alongside Mark Ruffalo, Ethan Hawke, Michael Stuhlbarg, Lynn Cohen, Anna Chlumsky, John Doman, Bobby Cannavale, Israel Horovitz and more. He currently splits his time between Brooklyn, NY and Los Angeles, CA.

Ensemble Member, Gil Ron
Barefoot Company Member Gil Ron will portray Julius Caesar in William Shakespeare’s “Julius Caesar” at the Secret Theatre in Long Island City. The show will run at 8pm, Wednesday thru Sunday from September 16th to October 2nd. The play, set in a post-apocalyptic Rome governed by warrior gangs, is directed by Secret Theatre Founder and Artistic Director, Richard Mazda. Advance tickets are $15 or $18 at the door.
