JOE PINTAURO (playwright) - poems: Harper & Row, also in collaboration with artists, Corita Kent and Norman LaLiberte. His three one acts about Italian American life in NYC, entitled CACCIATORE earned his first major theatre reviews. SNOW ORCHID, his first full length. became a selection of the Eugene O'Neill Conference and later with Olympia Dukakis, Peter Boyle and Robert Lupone at Circle Rep. A revival in London, starred Jude Law and Paola di Ognisotti. Short plays: AMERICAN DIVINE, in Chicago and "MOVING TARGETS" New York City's Vineyard Theater, Metropolitan Operas, Milenium Group, NYC. have been compared to Jame's Joyce's THE DUBLINERS. Full length plays: BESIDE HERSELF, with William Hurt, Lois Smith, Calista Flockhart and Melissa Joan Hart. RAFT OF THE MEDUSA: Minetta Lane and London's Gate Nottinghill (SALVATION). MEN'S LIVES, an adaptation of Mattheissen's non fiction book, was the innaugural production of the Bay Street Theatre in Sag Harbor. THE DEAD BOY, about faith and trauma: work-shopped at London's Royal Court under Stephen Daldry and again there with Ian McKellan. Pintauro directed THE DEAD BOY in Dutch language in the Netherlands as: DODE JONGEN, with Anton Lutz and most recently with Roy Scheider and Mercedes Ruehl, again in workshop in Key West. His collection of some forty short plays called, METROPOLITAN OPERAS (Dramatists Play Service, NYC, are oproduced in various languages world wide including the Comedia del Arte in Venetia under Carla Poli. The trilogy BY THE SEA, BY THE SEA, BY THE BEAUTIFUL SEA, a collaboration with Terrence McNally and Lanford Wilson, was produced by The Bay Street Theatre and Manhattan Theatre Club. HEAVEN AND EARTH, about American Farm life, also a Bay Street production, was directed by Jack Hofsiss. Pintauro has recently completed BEAUTIFUL DREAMER, a Civil War screenplay about the only woman to ever receive the Congressional medal of Honor and is working on two new full length plays with The Pacific Theatre Company, in Los Angeles, KARMA BOOMERANG and DANCE NITE ON THE RIVER QUEEN. Joe studied poetry with Leonie Adams at Columbia University. He taught fiction writing at Sarah Lawrence and N.Y.U's Tisch, film making at Marymount College and The School of Visual Arts, N.Y. He taught playwriting at Southampton College. Pintauro was playwright for the 2003 Southampton Writers Conference. THE DEAD BOY was a selection of the Eugene O'Neill Playwrights Conference. "STATE OF GRACE." his novel was published by Times Books. His novel, COLD HANDS, Simon and Schuster, was widely reviewed and singled out by the New York Times as one of the best novels of the year. Pintauro has studied cinematography under George Stoney, NYU, has a B.B.A. from Manhattan College, a B.A. in Philosophy from St. Jerome's College, Kitchener, Ontario and four full time years of Theology at Our Lady of Angels Seminary, Niagara University. He was recently awarded the Margaret Hill inaugural chair in theatre at Saint Mary's College, Notre Dame and was named recipient of the 2005 John Steinbeck literary award.

NYC theater credits include Fayette in WAITING FOR LEFTY; Scrooge in A CHRISTMAS CAROL: SCROOGE AND MARLEY (Barefoot Theatre Company). William Hearst in Terranova (FringeNYC 09 Encore); Arthur Shannon in Tennessee William’s SPRING STORM (New York premiere); Leon in DOG DAY AFTERNOON (Barefoot Theatre Company world premiere). JEREMY BRENA (Michael) Barefoot Credits include Sal in DOG DAY AFTERNOON and Joe Pintauro's Metropolitan Operas (Fiat, Butterball, & Charlie’s Farewell.) He originated roles in Israel Horovitz’s NEW SHORTS (The Audition Play, The Hotel Play, and The Bridal Dance) and was also seen in other roles from the same collection (Inconsolable, The Race Pay, and Fiddleheads and Lovers.) Jeremy was also a part of The 70/70 HOROVITZ PROJECT which included productions of SUITE HOROVITZ, Horovitz's adaptation of A CHRISTMAS CAROL: SCROOGE AND MARLEY, and staged readings of HONEST TO GOD SCHNOZZOLA, THE ALFRED TRILOGY, and UNEXPECTED TENDERNESS. Other Barefoot credits include, A FESTIVAL OF SHORT PLAYS AND POETRY by Israel Horovitz (Hopscotch and Shooting Gallery), and the 40th anniversary revival of Lanford Wilson’s BALM IN GILEAD). Other credits include THE POSSIBILITIES (Reasons for the Fall of Emperors) with Collective Productions, THE KILLER as part of the Ionescoe Festival, DEAD END as part of the Fringe Festival, RICHARD OF YORK (3 Henry VI & Richard III), with the York Shakespeare Company, and Raised in Captivity as part of the Piccolo Spoleto Festival in Charleston, SC. Jeremy’s film credits include SUNDAYS, AMERICAN ADOBO, SWIMFAN, and THE SAME DEEP WATER AS YOU. He earned a B.A. in Theatre from the College of Charleston. Barefoot Theatre Company member since 2001.
MAIA SAGE ( Estelle / Felicia) is a drama major at LaGuardia Arts High School. Performances include: Israel Horovitz’s NEW SHORTS on Theatre Row, BUSTED by Danelle Eliav, Edna in THE GOOD TIMES ARE KILLING ME. She has trained at the Martha Graham Dance Company Teen Program, Dance Theatre Workshop, Studio Maestro and American Ballroom Theater. Maia was a featured dancer in Noémie LaFrance’s site-specific performance piece, AGORA II, in the McCarren Park pool in Greenpoint and has been a choreographer/soloist at: Jacob’s Pillow Dance, La Mama, Danspace, Chez Bushwick, Dance Theatre Workshop. Barefoot Theatre Company member since 2004.
GIL RON (Dr. Jerry Rizzo) A Member of the Barefoot Theatre Company since 2001 and a Member of El Repertorio Espanol since 2002. Last seen, as Julius Ceasar at the Secret Theatre. Barefoot Productions: DE DONDE?, DOES A TIGER WEAR A NECKTIE?, A MOTHERS LOVE, NORTH SHORE FISH, DIRTY TALK and DOG DAY AFTERNOON. Repertorio Productions: BLOOD WEDDING, THE FEAST OF THE GOAT, CHRONICLE OF A DEATH FORETOLD, O.K. and ANA IN THE TROPICS. MICHAEL PIERRE LOUIS (Alan) received his BFA in Acting at Brooklyn College in 2011, he has also been seen in the film BENEATH THE ROCK by Eliana Ujueta and on stage in ACCIDENTS WAITING TO HAPPEN by Jonathan Libman. His credits also include, Tony in SAVAGE IN LIMBO, William in LOBBY HERO, and Kaden in AS BEES IN HONEY DROWN. Michael was also part of the Gone In 60 International play festival. This is his second collaboration with The Barefoot Theatre Company, and he could not be more excited to work with this group of talented, dedicated individuals. GILLIAN ROUGIER (Nairobi) is pleased to be a part of Barefoot’s fall 2011 season! She last worked with the company doing a reading of BALM IN GILEAD at the Cherry Lane Theatre. She holds a BFA in Acting from Brooklyn College (CUNY.) She was born and raised in Trinidad and Tobago. This summer marks her 10-year anniversary of being in the United States. She wants to thank Frank and Sam for giving her the opportunity to be a part of this great company. She also wants to thank her family and Mack for their continuous support.
ANDREW MacLARTY (Tommy) is a New York based actor. He has most recently appeared in Theodora Skipitares' adaptation of LYSISTRATA at La MaMa, and TOMORROW'S SHORE, the HERE Arts Center, and is a regular ensemble member in the Gi60 international one minute play festival. As a teenager, Andrew performed at The United Nations in two fund raising relief benefit shows. Television credits include BOARDWALK EMPIRE.
MARK G. CISNEROS (Larry) - 2002 OOBR Award winning actor Mark G. Cisneros has a career in Theater and Film spanning over 16 years. Theater: WALKABOUT by Marcus Haupt (the Flea Theater), THE SONS OF JUAN PEREZ by Roberto De Los Reyes (the Puerto Rican Traveling Theater), and ?DE DONDE? By Mary Gallagher, his first play with the Barefoot Theatre Company (Looking Glass Theater). Television: THIRD WATCH (with Ann Margaret) and AS THE WORLD TURNS. Film: Mercutio in ROMEO AND JULIET, NEW YORK, accepted to the Havana Film Festival in 2003; As producer with his previous company On A Quest he is proud to have produced and starred in two successful plays (LA HABITACION by Barbara Colio-accepted to The NY International Fringe Festival, and RISING SUN, FALLING STAR by Yolanda Rodriguez at the 78th St Theater Lab). Mark is currently Director of Marketing and ensemble of the Barefoot Theatre Company and is reviving his previously defunct company On A Quest to develop two plays, MY NIGHT WITH FRIDA by Rob Santana which he will co-produce and direct, and DON QUIXOTE IN TIANANMEN SQUARE by Daniel Ho in which he will co-produce and star as the iconic literary hero. SAMANTHA FONTANA (Cora) a native New Yorker, received her BFA in Acting from Brooklyn College and studied at the Lee Strasberg Institute of Theatre and Film. Samantha is a proud Company Member and Artistic Associate of the Barefoot Theatre Company and made her Off-Broadway debut performing as the Understudy in Barefoot's production of EMERGENCY USED CANDLES directed by Victoria Malvagno. She and Victoria wrote and workshopped THE VILLAGE ILIAD, a One Woman Show about growing up in the East Village at the Cherry Lane Theatre this past Spring. She has also performed in GI60, the International One Minute Play Festival, in the West Coast Premiere of the bareNaked Reading Series in Los Angeles, CA and other shows. Samantha is the co-writer, director and lead actor for "S&M", a series of comedic web shorts.
CHRISTOPHER WHALEN (Alec) Theater: SINS OF THE MOTHER written and directed by Israel Horovitz (Gloucester Stage Company), 70/70 Horovitz Project in Horovitz's UNEXPECTED TENDERNESS (alongside Michael Stuhlbarg, Annabella Sciorra, Marcia Jean Kurtz, Anna Chlumsky, and Sol Freider at the Bleecker Street Theater), bareNaked Reading Series (NY/LA), SUITE HOROVITZ & MID EAST PIECES by Horovitz (Theatre For The New City). Christopher developed the role of Moretti in the workshop production of DOG DAY AFTERNOON, Dave, Benjy, Todd, and Angry Male in Israel Horovitz's NEW SHORTS (Theatre Row Theatres opposite Lynn Cohen), BAREFOOT IN THE PARK, PERICLES, CRIMES OF THE HEART, Israel Horovitz's SECURITY (Bleecker Street Theatre) & NORTH SHORE FISH (78th Street Theatre Lab) and Joseph Sousa's TEETH OF THE SONS (Bleecker Street Theatre) among others. FRANCISCO SOLORZANO (Director) is a Director, Actor, Producer. Most notably directed and adapted the Off –Broadway, stage adaptation of DOG DAY AFTERNOON as well as collaborating with award winning playwright, Israel Horovitz on many of his plays including some world premieres. Also directed the Award Winning, DE DONDE?. Executive producer of the 70/70 HOROVITZ PROJECT (a worldwide, year-long festival celebrating Israel Horovitz's 70th Birthday with 70 of his plays.) Co-Founder of BAREFOOT STUDIO PICTURES with Christopher Whalen (several projects in the works). BFA: CUNY'S Brooklyn College; a founder and Producing Artistic Director of the Barefoot Theatre Company since 1999. Recipient of the 2009 Graduate Theater Organization of Brooklyn College, CUNY's Alumnus of the Year Award. Currently splits his time between Brooklyn New York and Hollywood, California. For my family, friends, the cast and Nicole Haran, who taught me so much about perseverance and directing with love first and foremost.
MORGAN EISEN (Production Stage Manager) was born and raised in New York City. She is finishing her degree at Brooklyn College, where she will receive her BA in Theater with a focus in Stage Management. She has Stage Managed several Brooklyn College productions including AUTOBAHN, NOCTURNAL, FLYIN' WEST, THE THUGS, and TI JEANS AND HIS BROTHERS. Morgan has had the privilege of being a founding member of Pangaea Performance Ensemble, and worked at Theaterlab where she managed THREE SISTERS COME AND GO, as well as ALL THE WINDOWS ON ALCATRAZ WITH WHISKEY REBELLION. She is very happy to be making her Barefoot Theatre debut with RAFT OF THE MEDUSA.
MINNA TAYLOR (Assistant Stage Manager) is very excited to be participating with Barefoot on this production. She has a BFA from NYU Tisch with The Atlantic Theater Company and an MFA from Brooklyn College. She produces a series of comedy short films with company member Samantha Fontana. NILUKA HOTALING (Lighting Design) works as a free lance Set and Lighting Designer. She has recently designed shows for Henry Street Settlement Abrons Art center, Arts Connection, Artis Smith Dance Troupe; Barefoot Theatre; Four Chairs Theatre Company; Sackett Group; The New School; Brooklyn Children’s Theatre, Brooklyn College; shows that appeared in The NY Fringe Festival, newfangled theatReR- where she is a founding member, and resident set designer. She has also lent her services as stage manager, scenic charge, carpenter and stage technician to such institutions as Lincoln center Institute, Brooklyn Center for the Performing arts, Daryl Roth Theatre and Spiegel LP. Niluka currently teaches for the Theatre department at Brooklyn College where she received her MFA in Design and Technical Production in 2003. She is a recipient of an Individual Artists Grant from NYSCA in 2005 for her design work at Henry Street and is a member of United Scenic Artists Local 829 in the set design category.
MICHAEL MALLARD (Set Design) received his MFA in Theater from the National Theater Conservatory in Denver, Co., and BFA from Texas State University. While his studies have focused mainly on acting, Michael has always been involved with the design aspect of performance. It is his understanding of the actor that influences his design process: leading him to create a practical world in which the actor, director, and script blend together into story. Michael’s design credits include SECOND by Neil Utterback at Roy Arias Studios, A BICYCLE COUNTRY by Nilo Cruz at Theater Row, and STRANGE SNOW by Stephen Metcalfe for East 3rd Productions. Michael is currently the Creative Director for East 3rd Productions, and has a budding photography business. Michael is thrilled to have the opportunity to collaborate with the Barefoot Theatre Company and be the Production Designer for the play festival, STRIPP3D, at the Cherry Lane Theatre.
JOHN BEVERLY (Sound & Projection Design) has been designing for the Barefoot Theatre Company since its inception back in 1999.
VICTORIA MALVAGNO (Costume Design) Actor, Director and Teacher. She designed Costumes with Barefoot Theatre Company for over ten years including: Off-Broadway: TEETH OF THE SONS, 45th Anniversary Revival of Lanford Wilson's BALM IN GILEAD, World Premiere of SINS OF THE MOTHER, NEW SHORTS, BEIRUT ROCKS, all by Israel Horovitz including the Indie hit, LOVE SIMPLE (HBO Latino Film Festival; Feel Good Film Festival, CA). Victoria is also an Educational Liaison and teaching artist for The American Ballroom Theater. Her work with ABrT's Dancing Classrooms program can be seen in the award winning documentary MAD HOT BALLROOM. She is a founder and currently the Managing Director of the Barefoot Theatre Company since 1999. For my beautiful mother, Aldina.
RICARDO RIETHMULLER (Co-Producer) is a director, performer, and producer. He is a graduate of the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University and a founding member of East 3rd Productions. Acing Credits include: 365 PLAYS/365 DAYS Festival (The Public Theater), Multitudo Vulgaris (Under St. Marks), AOI! (Japan Society), THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO JACK VITROLO (The Watermill Center, the HERE Arts Center), 70/70 HOROVITZ PROJECT: HOROVITZ MARATHON (Theater Row Theaters). Directing Credits Include: Multitudo Vulgaris (Bare-Naked Players), NO EXIT(Fehomj Group), THE WIERD SISTERS(East 3rd Productions, Inc), 70/70 HOROVITZ PROJECT: HOROVITZ MARATHON (East 3rd Productions, Barefoot Theatre Company), A LASTING IMPRESSION (East 3rd Productions), and STRANGE SNOW (East 3rd Productions). He has also directed readings by playwright Zack Calhoon and has directed for aMios Theater Company’s SHOTZ. His producing credits include all the work by East 3rd Productions including Mary Esther, the award winning film TAPEWORM, and East 3rd Visual’s EXTREMITIES. He is excited and honored to collaborate again with Barefoot Theatre Company on the play festival STRIPP3D at the Cherry Lane Theatre.
ERIC VIGDOROV (Associate Producer) is a native New Yorker born and raised in Brooklyn. He has always aspired to be an Actor, immersing him self in the entertainment industry. In 2011 he finished Brooklyn College with a B.F.A. in Acting. Since then Eric performed in his first Off-Broadway production of REEFER MADNESS at the Roy Arias Theater. He also participated in the Figment Festival on Governors Island in a movement piece entitled BEAST. Also he had the opportunity to lead a short film FAMILY this summer. Eric is so excited to be working with Frank Solorzano and the Barefoot Theatre Company family. Many thanks to his family, friends, and fellow artists!
