March 31st, 2010 is Israel Horovitz's 71st birthday, and it is also the anniversary of our 70/70 Horovitz project, a celebration of Israel's work with readings, workshops, and full productions of (almost) all of his plays being done all over the world. To mark the occasion, we're throwing a party bigger than last year's!!

The event will include a cocktail hour with open bar, snacks, live music, and photo opportunities on the red carpet followed by a reading of Horovitz's Unexpected Tenderness directed by Terry Kinney (HBO's Oz, co-founder of the Steppenwolf Theater Company) and featuring Michael Stuhlbarg (2009 Golden Globe nominee for A Serious Man, Drama Desk Award winner for The Pillowman), Lynn Cohen (Munich, Sex And The City), Sol Frieder (original NYC cast, "oldest working actor in New York"), and Barefoot Theatre Company members Anna Chlumsky (In The Loop, My Girl), Joseph Sousa (Teeth Of The Sons), and Christopher Whalen (PS I Love You, Sins Of The Mother at GSC), with stage directions read by Ron Cohen. The event will take place at the official venue for the 70/70 Horovitz Project, The Bleecker Street Theatre, 45 Bleecker Street, NYC.

Directly after the reading: THE AFTER PARTY
We will party into the night with music spun by DJ Grancentral and drinks supplied by Zyr Vodka, Cape Ann Brewing Company, and the Bean Post Pub. Coffee, provided by Starbucks, will be available in the lobby. Stick around and mingle with the Barefoot Theatre Company and our guests. The cocktail hour starts at 7:00. The reading starts at 8:00.
