As we come to a close with our bareNaked LA Reading Series we're thrilled to give you a glimpse of our cast for tonight's reading of resident playwright, Jason Furlani's FAMILY TREES directed by another resident playwright, Jonathan Libman.  Thank you for the support and making the reading series such a great success...Tonight's LIVE MUSIC will be performed by THE PUBLIC TRUST!!!

Member of LAByrinth Theater Company, HERO Theater Company  and The Actors Studio .

S.J. MENDELSON (BARB) Born in Paris and raised in Brooklyn. S.J. has had a long and varied career including back up singing in the 1960's, many theater productions, Voice Over projects and a Cleveland Emmy. Her latest character is Cooking with Maw Kitty, a new You Tube crazy cooking show. Meow.

CHRISTOPHER WHALEN (GEORGE) Theater: bareNaked LA Reading Series in Mike Reiss’ (THE SIMPSONS) I’M CONNECTICUT (opposite Joyce DeWitt); Joe Pintauro’s RAFT OF THE MEDUSA; Kristoffer Diaz's F**KING VIGWAN (OR SWAG); GLOUCESTER BLUE (Cherry Lane Theatre) and SINS OF THE MOTHER written and directed by Israel Horovitz (Gloucester Stage Company), 70/70 Horovitz Project in Horovitz's UNEXPECTED TENDERNESS (alongside Michael Stuhlbarg, Annabella Sciorra, Anna Chlumsky; Bleecker Street Theater), bareNaked Reading Series (NY/LA), SUITE HOROVITZ & MID EAST PIECES by Horovitz (Theatre For The New City). Christopher developed the role of Moretti in the workshop production of DOG DAY AFTERNOON, Horovitz's NEW SHORTS (Theatre Row Theatres opposite Lynn Cohen), BAREFOOT IN THE PARK, PERICLES, CRIMES OF THE HEART,Israel Horovitz's SECURITY (Bleecker Street Theatre) & NORTH SHORE FISH (78th Street Theatre Lab) and Joseph Sousa's TEETH OF THE SONS (Bleecker Street Theatre) among others. Film: PS. I LOVE YOU opposite Lisa Kudrow, (Warner Brothers), THE PROCTOR (Endless Films). A physical fitness enthusiast, he completed his third New York City marathon in the fall of 2007.

FRANCISCO SOLORZANO (MIKE)

Theater: adapted, acted in and directed the critically acclaimed/sold-out world premiere of Dog Day Afternoon(Theatre Row Theatres).  As an Actor and Director, Francisco has worked on numerous productions that include award winning revivals, NY and World Premieres, regionally and throughout NYC. Select Theater: Sins Of The Mother (Gloucester Stage; Florida Stage); The Water Engine (Edinburgh Fringe Festival); Beirut Rocks (LAByrinth Theater Company; GSC; Ensemble Studio Theater).  Film: Love Simple (HBO Latino Film Festival; Avail on Netflix & itunes); Floating Sunflowers (Barefoot Studio Pictures' debut film opposite Christopher Whalen, Anna Chlumsky, Lynn Cohen and Audrey Esparza).  BFA: CUNY'S Brooklyn College; a founder and Producing Artistic Director of the Barefoot Theatre Company since 1999. Recipient of the 2009 Graduate Theater Organization of Brooklyn College, CUNY's Alumnus of the Year Award. Member Since 1999.
