bareNaked Reading Series (2012-2013 Season)

As we approach the 3rd installment of our bareNaked Reading Series this season (2012-2013) for the 4th year in a row...we'd LOVE to give some attention to two incredible women, our Program Director, Molly Marinik and Co-Producer, Jennie West...  Together, they have organized and produced an incredible line-up of new works that allows us to take artistic risks and explore many aspects of storytelling - the readings have also featured some incredible artists and director/playwright collaborations in a unique setting...  Here's a closer look at who they are and what they've been up to...

MOLLY MARINIK is a dramaturg and director. Former literary manager for Planet Connections Theatre Festivity. Some favorite credits include Eleven Days (Emerging Artists Theatre), Act Naturally (Workshop Theatre), The Funeralogues (MC2 Productions), and There's No Zombies Like Show Zombies (Emerging Artists Theatre). Molly is also the founder and editor of the theatre review website Theatre Is Easy (Theasy.com). MA in theatre history and criticism from Brooklyn College, additional training at The Kennedy Center and Atlantic Theater Company. Very excited to collaborate with Barefoot on the bareNaked Readings.

JENNIE WEST most recently appeared in Michael Reyes' Park Slope part of Barefoot's Workshop Series.  Jennie started performing at a very young age most notably singing private audience for former first lady Bess Wallace Truman. She has honed her craft at such institutions as The Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts and The New School. Her work, based in the Meisner Technique, won her the Best Performance Award at the Dusty Film Festival for her leading role in Resonance and distinction as a "standout" in stage productions. Jennie began working with Barefoot Theatre Company on their production of Balm in Gilead as "Babe".
Other roles include "Alma Weinmiller" in Eccentricities of A Nightingale, ensemble work in various exciting original works curated by Mabou Mines and the Puerto Rican Traveling Theatre. Most recently, Jennie performed in Dramatic Question Theatre’s Bar Play Series as the lead in Pink Bunny Slippers and DoubleStoly , Ensemble player in Dialogue with Three Chords podcast production of The Krampus and Barefoot Theatre Company’s workshop production as “Quellz” in F**king Vigwan by Kristoffer Diaz.

Jennie is truly grateful to be working with Barefoot Theatre Company.
