FEATURED ENSEMBLE MEMBER, Joseph Sousa

We are proud to announce our first ever Monthly Featured Ensemble Member, Joseph Sousa!

During the month of March, we will give you a closer look (photos, interviews, and more) at our Ensemble Member, also known as "Joe" who has joined our newly formed, Playwrights in Residence team. Since joining the company in 2009, Joe has been working as a member of the Literary Team, playing a crucial part in the feedback and selection process.

Next month, we will present Sousa's award winning drama, Teeth Of The Sons at the legendary the Cherry Lane Theatre, Off-Broadway. Teeth Of The Sons was first seen at our inaugural bareNaked Reading Series at Bleecker Street Theatre. As we get you more familiar with our Ensemble Member, we'll be sure to give you a Back Stage Pass to the rehearsal process, currently in its second week.

Joseph Sousa Recent Barefoot performances include Israel Horovitz' Unexpected Tenderness (opposite Michael Stuhlbarg), and Barking Sharks. Favorite NY credits include Davis in Red Light Winter, Rev. Hale inThe Crucible, Fedotik in LaMama's Three Sisters, and Soldier in Shakespeare in the Park's Mother Courage. Teeth Of The Sons is Joseph's first play. It received a staged reading at 45 Bleeker as Barefoot's first Barenaked Reading. Teeth went on to be produced in Portland, Oregon by the Retheater Instrument. Joseph was awarded Portland's Drammy Award for both Original Script, and Lead Actor in a Role. Joseph is a proud member of the Barefoot Theatre Company Ensemble Since 2009.
